LETCEE receives Approved Cause rating from GreaterGood SA LETCEE has not only passed the basic compliance checks that every Cause listed with GreaterGood SA undergoes but we have now been assessed according to governance, capability, sustainability and social impact and have passed these assessments too. We are delighted to have been awarded this rating as it strengthens our credibility when people are looking for an Organization or Project to support. LETCEE's Home and Family Based Programmes are currently reaching: 577 children between 0 and 6 years of age 18 children with disabilities 477 children between 7 and 14 years of age 880 adults In 2010: 96 people were trained in ECD Foundations
40 people were enrolled for the ECD Basic Skills Course
200 Play Facilitators were trained
47 Family Facilitators completed training
184 students attended the Level 4 training
12 completed the Level 5 training which we piloted
90 Trainees graduated with the National Certificate in ECD (Level 4) In 2009 LETCEE’s Family Based Model of ECD provision was pronounced a model of excellence by UNICEF. This same model was again recognized by being awarded Most Innovative ECD Intervention in the KZN Provincial ABSA/Sowetan/UNICEF 2009 ECD awards and was a finalist in the National Awards. The Model has also received recognition from Warwick and Anglia Ruskin Universities in the UK. LETCEE was also awarded Best Resource and Training Organization in KZN in 2009 and again were finalists in the ABSA/Sowetan/UNICEF ECD National Awards. We are very proud to announce that one of our students won the KZN Foundation Phase Teacher of the Year award in 2009.
