The Nquthu programme has developed substantially over the past few years. In partnership with ABSA, LETCEE initially trained fourteen site based ECD practitioners at NQF Level 4 in Nquthu in 2010. Educational toys and equipment were also provided to the fourteen sites where these practitioners are based. 

Fourteen Abahambi (home and family based) ECD practitioners received ECD training in 2011 and each is linked to an ECD site. These Abahambi visit children in their homes, where they provide an ECD programme for the children and give support to the caregivers.

The toys at the ECD sites are used by both the children at the sites as well as the children who are visited in their homes by the Abahambi.
